Carahsoft supports the advancement of women in sales through a broad set of initiatives designed to strengthen its leadership pipeline and ensure long-term representation at senior levels. The company invests in recruiting top female talent, building a workforce of nearly 4,000 employees, and actively participating in 20+ DEI and women-focused industry events each year, such as Women Doing Good, IES Women in Sales, GDIT Women + Tech, and events hosted by Dell and F5.

Carahsoft also launched its own Women in Tech event in 2023, creating a space for women in the tech and sales community to network, learn from industry leaders, and build professional support systems. Its commitment extends to philanthropy, supporting numerous women-focused nonprofits including Women Giving Back, the Women’s Center, Cornerstones, and the Virginia Women and Family Support Center.

Finally, Carahsoft promotes visibility and recognition for women by nominating its female leaders for national awards. Dozens have been honored through CRN’s Women of the Channel awards, and several have earned the prestigious Channel Chief title—reinforcing the company’s commitment to elevating female leadership and strengthening its succession planning.

Carahsoft runs an ongoing training program for its team members at both the entry and supervisor levels to ensure that its teams have the skills to be successful in their current roles and the training to progress in their careers at Carahsoft. 

In addition, senior leadership at Carahsoft have the opportunity to participate in advanced leadership training offered through the Unite Leadership Collective. Though this program is not exclusively for women, the classes are often women-led and include topics that help propel and accelerate women’s careers, such as building a personal brand, managing difficult conversations, and negotiations. 
Senior women lead some of the largest teams at Carahsoft, which are multi-million dollar lines of business. Women leaders are also responsible for the development of new initiatives at Carahsoft including internal training, developing a renewals business for the Carahsoft ecosystem, identifying multi-million dollar marketing campaigns, and more. 

WHAT ARE YOU DOING TO ATTRACT AND HIRE A PIPELINE OF DIVERSE CANDIDATES?

The Carahsoft recruiting team has multiple initiatives to hire diverse candidates. The recruiting team participates in 15-20 career fairs each year, including several events targeted to historically black colleges and universities and other minority-focused career fairs.

Carahsoft actively recruits veterans and military spouses. The company joined the Commonwealth’s Virginia Values Veterans program in 2020 and currently employs a large number of active duty military reservists and military spouses. Certain sales roles such as the renewal sales position are well-suited for these team members who can work anywhere in the country, even if they are not available during the typical east coast business day.
